Museum Talks confirmed for 2018/19

The dates and times have been confirmed for the popular winter talks which will be taking place in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff over the course of the winter months.

 

October 10th - An Evening with Alan Wilkins (at 7pm)

The former Glamorgan bowler looks back on his career in county cricket, as well as his work as a broadcaster covering cricket and other sports worldwide, including the Indian Premier League.

November 9th – British Legion Remembrance Event (start time - TBC)

An evening, run in conjunction with the Royal British Legion commemorating the end of the Great War and looking at how life returned to normal afterwards. The evening will include films and presentations by staff and pupils from some of Glamorgan Cricket’s Community partners who have taken part in remembrance activities.

November 21st  – The Cricketing Family Harrison (at 7pm)

Stuart, David and Adam – the cricketing family Harrison from Panteg – will reflect on their careers in professional cricket with Glamorgan as well as their work after retiring from playing.

December 4th  – Winter Quiz (at 7pm)

The popular winter quiz will see teams of up to four people answering questions on cricket and general sport, besides enjoying a curry and drink in the company of fellow Glamorgan supporters.

January 15th – An Evening with Alan Jones (at 7pm)

Club President and batting legend Alan Jones reflects on his outstanding career with Glamorgan in county cricket which spanned five decade as a player and coach .

 

Further talks are being arranged for February and March with former Glamorgan bowler Steve Watkin and first-class umpire Jeff Evans lined up to reminisce about their careers in professional cricket.

 

The Quiz Night will be £10 per person (including curry and a complimentary drink). Each of the other talks will be £4 in advance for current Glamorgan members or £5 on the door on the night. For non-members, it’s £5 in advance or £6 on the door (Price includes complimentary tea and coffee).
