Glamorgan will face the Netherlands in a T20 friendly at Sophia Gardens, starting at 2.30pm on Thursday, 4th July.
Members and season tickets can enter the game for free, as can students and under-17s, while adult tickets are just £5. All tickets can be purchased on the gate, online or by calling 02920 419 311.
Glamorgan will also be using this fixture as a warm-up for the Vitality Blast, which begins on Thursday, 18th July with The Big Match against Somerset. Tickets for this can be purchased here.
Glamorgan’s own Timm van der Gugten will be playing for the visitors, having been the leading wicket taker for the Welsh county in the 2018 Vitality Blast with 19 wickets at an average of 22.47.
The Netherlands national side will also be playing fixtures against Essex and Gloucestershire on a brief UK tour as they prepare for the World T20 qualifiers in October and November in the UAE.
The visitors will be coming with plenty of confidence having just finished an ODI and IT20 series against Zimbabwe, where they won 3-0 in the ODI series before drawing the IT20 series 1-1.
The side contained a number of well-known names with Kent’s Freddie Klaassen, Somerset’s Roelef van der Merwe and Paul van Meekeren and veteran leader Wesley Barresi.
Glamorgan previously played the Netherlands while on pre-season tour in South Africa in 2009, where the Dutch side won by two wickets despite half-centuries from Jamie Dalrymple, Gareth Rees and Ben Wright and three wickets apiece for Dean Cosker and current assistant coach David Harrison.
As well as having a connection in Timm van der Gugten, former Glamorgan seamer Roland Lefebvre also played for the Dutch national side and was a key part in Glamorgan’s 1993 Sunday League triumph.
