Glamorgan travel to Kent on Sunday for their third match in the Specsavers County Championship and captain Jacques Rudolph believes his side are moving in the right direction after the draw against Derbyshire.
The South African batsman was pleased to see Glamorgan register an improved performance from the opening week defeat against Leicestershire, although bad weather eventually scuppered both teams chances of victory in Derby
Rudolph said: "It was the first time I've actually encountered snow playing cricket, but it was a much better team performance, much improved from the Leicestershire game.
"It was a pity the rain (and snow) played such a big role because it was a really good wicket, but that's the nature of the beast and we've gathered some good momentum for Sunday."
Will Bragg's 129 and wickets for Andrew Salter and Michael Hogan were the standout performances at Derby and Rudolph believes his team are edging closer to a first victory in this season's County Championship.
"As a squad we're moving in the right direction," he added. "The Leicestershire game was potentially a bit of a wakeup call for us so it's going to be a good challenge for us against Kent.
"But as long as we can keep building, we should get a win very soon."
"Kent have got a lot of good experience in their team, but it's important for us to focus on what we can do and keep building."
Kent were saved by bad weather in their game against Leicestershire earlier in the week after their opening game versus Worcestershire was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
They are captained by Sam Northeast and boast the nous of Darren Stevens, 39, and Mitchell Claydon, 33, in their bowling attack.
Stevens, who turns 40 on Saturday and registered a career-best 208 against Glamorgan in 2005, said: "I’ve got a pretty good record against the Welsh and it’s the first home game of my benefit (year) too, so it’d be nice if I could do something to remember the game by."
Glamorgan's clash with Kent begins at 11am on Sunday at The Spitfire Ground in Canterbury.
