Ravi Bopara inspired Essex Eagles to a 5 wicket victory over Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium tonight.
Jacques Rudolph propelled Glamorgan to a positive start, but the Welsh county lost wickets at crucial intervals and finished on 144/8.
Essex cruised to their victory target inside 18 overs to collect their first T20 victory of the season. After the game Toby Radford spoke to the media to give his assessment of the match.
We wanted to come here to the SWALEC for the first time in T20 this season and put on a performance, we were a bit short tonight.
I think Essex bowled really well, but Chris Cooke played well and so did a couple of guys around him
We always want to better ourselves, and we'll come back in a week against Hampshire and we want to put on a good performance.
I though 144 was a pretty good recovery from where we were.
There's a good buzz around the ground, and we love this format after almost getting to finals day last year.
