Glamorgan batsman Kiran Carlson was happy with his contribution of 83 with the bat after the Welsh county finished day one of their Specsavers County Championship encounter with Leicestershire on 331/8.
The Cardiff-born youngster didn’t waste any time at the crease and set the hosts on their way to a respectable total at close to put Glamorgan in good stead heading into day two.
"I went out there to try to keep a clear head,” said Carlson. “I stuck to the game plan I've employed through the year and it came off today. It was hard work early on but I managed to cash in towards the back end of my innings.
"It was nice to get a score on the board and some runs down the order; the talk is that Timm will be the new all-rounder for next year!
"There's no hiding from it,” added Carlson. “It's been a pretty poor season in the red-ball stuff, so it's nice to get a good score on the board at home."
