Glamorgan struggled with the bat on day one of their Specsavers County Championship match with Derbyshire at St Helen\'s after winning the toss.
The home side lost five early wickets after a weather delay pushed the start of play to 3:40pm. Chris Cooke scored 69 runs as Glamorgan began to fight back but was disappointed with the batting display after electing to bat first.
"It wasn't the best day for us but we're back in the game. We need a good day tomorrow and hopefully we can get a few more runs and then be disciplined with the ball.
"I think you have to ride your luck on that pitch. It wasn't the easiest out there and you have to play to the game plan because there's always a ball with your name on it.
"I think we saw out there with their leg spinner that a few balls spun which are encouraging signs. It's a good wicket and hopefully it's going to do more later on in the game so we knew that it would be best to get stuck in and produce a good first innings. We didn't bat very well but It wasn't down to the toss or the conditions.
"It's not down to the lower order to score the majority of the runs but another 30/40 runs would be nice. After that hopefully we can get stuck in with the ball and if we bowl well then, we'll be right in the game.
"It's great to see him [Prem Sisodiya] get his debut. He's done very well in the seconds and he's a nice confident chap, hopefully this is the start of a long fruitful career for him at Glamorgan".
