Head Coach Robert Croft admitted Glamorgan were outplayed by Derbyshire with both bat and ball during their Specsavers County Championship match.
The Welsh county fell to a 169 run defeat to Derbyshire with seamer Tony Palladino the star man for the home side, finishing with 10 wickets in the match for the first time in his career.
"It wasn't a straight-forward pitch throughout the game but it wasn't a pitch they should have scored 250 on in the first innings and also 120 wasn't enough in our first innings," said Croft.
"Fair scores on that pitch were around the 180 mark all the way through. Palladino fair play to him bowled very well, there was some uneven bounce and sideways movement and we were a little bit like sitting ducks but when confidence is low it can be difficult to be proactive against a bowler like that.
"Had we had more confidence from a runs perspective this summer you would have seen some different ways of playing against him but they were better with the ball and bat."
