REACTION: ‘I tried to be positive to try and create something out of nothing’

Fast bowler Marchant de Lange\'s heroics with the bat weren\'t quite enough to avoid defeat as Glamorgan fell agonisingly short against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

de Lange smashed a career-best 90 off 45 balls with eight sixes and five fours, and shared 50 run partnerships with both Timm van der Gugten and Michael Hogan, however, he was caught at long-on with the Welsh county needing just four runs to win.

“Disappointed, I’d been striking a couple nicely but it comes down to one ball and it didn’t go our way, but I suppose, it was a nice innings for myself,” said de Lange.

“It was just a mental switch. When you’re so far out of the game, I tried to be positive and try and create something out of nothing.

“It’s nice to come back and give yourself a chance of winning, but I hate losing, if it’s 100 or just three runs, it’s still the same. I like to get over the line and if we take that mentality forwards we’ll have a lot of results going in our favour, if we stay hungry for winning.”
