Red-ball skipper Michael Hogan wants his side to go back to basics and concentrate on playing cricket before Glamorgan host Warwickshire in Colwyn Bay.
The Welsh county were defeated by Durham in their Specsavers County Championship meeting at Sophia Gardens, and Hogan believes there could now be opportunity for some of Glamorgan’s Pathway Players with some senior players dealing with injuries.
“In conditions like these, which are tricky at the best of times there are young boys trying to find their feet especially against a bowler like the quality of Chris Rushworth which makes it tough but it’s experience for the boys.
“We need to give ourselves the best opportunity to improve. We practice again on Thursday and try to get a bit of fun back in the changing room and get smiles back on the boys faces.
“There could be opportunity for young players, we’ve got a lot of injuries at the moment so we’re not sure who is available at the moment but it isn’t ideal. There’s potential to bring a couple of boys in and there’s a second team game in Bristol today so we’ll go down and have a look to see how they get on.
“We need to try and find that mindset of taking pressure off the boys and just letting them play their game.”
