Jacques Rudolph remained upbeat about Glamorgan\'s form in white-ball cricket and was confident the Welsh county could stay on course with victory against Kent Spitfires at The SSE SWALEC tomorrow (Friday) night.
The South African was speaking after Glamorgan's NatWest T20 Blast fixture against Somerset at Taunton was abandoned without a ball being bowled, due to heavy rain falling earlier in the day, created a sodden outfield.
Rudolph was keen to look ahead to another crucial game on Friday night, as Glamorgan look to secure their fourth win of the T20 campaign so far.
He said: "The outfield was saturated and I din’t think there was any chance of playing. We’ve got some good momentum in the white ball competitions at the moment and it (the abandonment) does gives our bowlers a little bit of a break. Hopefully by Friday they’ll be a bit fresher.
"It would have been nice to get onto the park again but the flip-side to that is we get some time off."
Glamorgan face Kent for the second time in six days, after clinching a dramatic victory over the Spitfires in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Sunday, thanks to Colin Ingram's exhilirating 95 not out, as the Welsh county chased down 293 for victory.
Rudolph said the result gives an added confidence boost for Glamorgan – who have only lost once in their five T20 matches of the season so far.
He added: "Every game is important and I think the way Kent batted against us the other night (in the RL One Day Cup) there were some lessons for us to take – and guys like Joe Deny and Sam Billings batted very well.
"But we won that game and our team will take a lot of confidence from it going into Friday.
"For most of these white ball matches our batters have been striking the ball nicely and it will also great to have Dale (Steyn) back for the T20."
The clash is the penultimate game in Steyn's six-match stint with Glamorgan, before the South African quick heads to the Caribbean Premier League.
Steyn's last home match was the thrilling five-wicket win over Hampshire in front of a bumper crowd at The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff, and Rudolph added: "It was good to see a good crowd (for the last T20 match in Cardiff) and hopefully we can see the same again on Friday."
