Victorious skipper Jacques Rudolph praised the efforts of his fellow South African Colin Ingram for guiding Glamorgan to victory at Kent.
Ingram's unbeaten 95 led the Welsh county to a stunnning three-wicket win in a rain-affaected game at Canterbury.
After the match, Rudolph hailed Ingram's 'class' knock as the South African batsman hit 6 sixes in a brutal display of batting.
Rudolph said: "For long periods of our innings we were just behind the Duckworth/Lewis figure and that’s generally a good indicator as to where you’re at.
“We then pulled the switch and went an over ahead of the rate. After that, I felt if we keep our heads, we’ll win the game.
“Of course, there was a twist with the two run outs, but Colin showed his international experience and class and it was great for him to see us home. He is an immensely strong guy and was very clever at attacking the short boundary.”
Rudolph added: “When Kent came out and posted 290 I was concerned that it may be too much for us to chase.
"We were kicking ourselves for dropping Billings on 27, and from there he went on to play one of the better knocks I’ve seen. Billings is exceptional in this format and Denly also played exceptionally well to set us a stiff target."
Kent's Billings, refusing to be crestfallen despite scoring an unbeaten 106 in a losing cause, said: “I’ve seen enough one-day cricket now to know that a chasing side is never out of a game, especially on a decent pitch and at a smallish ground like Canterbury.
“At half-way we were very happy with the score we’d put on the board, but it just takes one bloke and a couple of others to back him up for the game to slip away.
“Our last few performances in white-ball cricket have been frustrating because we’ve been half-and-half. The bowlers have turned up and done their job when the batters underperform, or vice versa. We haven’t quite been putting it all together. We’ve got plenty of room for improvement and if we can do that where’s no reason why we cannot win a tournament.”
