Glamorgan T20 Blast captain Jacques Rudolph is excited about the prospect of playing alongside new recruit David Miller, who is set to make his debut on Sunday against Essex Eagles at The SSE SWALEC (2.30pm scheduled start).
"From playing with David back in South Africa I'd say he’s very similar to Colin," commented Rudolph, "so having someone of his calibre, who has done exceptionally well in the IPL and playing internationally for South Africa is great for us and he will add balance to our team.
"Unfortunately two of our young Welsh batters are injured currently so there’s not much we can do about that, but as a captain it’s a delight to have someone of his calibre coming in."
After an opening game defeat, Glamorgan have recorded impressive victories against Sussex Sharks and Essex Eagles on the road to move into a qualifying spot for the quarter-finals at this early stage of the tournament. Colin Ingram has been in fine batting form alongside excellent performances by Jacques Rudolph, Chris Cooke and Graham Wagg.
"Each one of us brings something different to the party," added Jacques.
"Graham Wagg in the first game got a brilliant 50, Chris Cooke has been in excellent form and I’ve been happy with the way I’ve been striking the ball with Colin so as a batting collective we’ve been spot on and with the addition of David coming in to our team as well it can only improve it."
