Sammy Bids Au Revoir, but may see us again!

Darren Sammy played his final game for Glamorgan tonight scoring 28 runs off 14 balls, as the Welsh county lost in agonising fashion to 2012 T20 champions Hampshire at the SWALEC Stadium.
Speaking to the media after the game, Darren Sammy gave his thanks to the supporters, and best wishes to his teammates and coaching team as he departs to lead St Lucia Zouks in the CPL alongside Kevin Pietersen and Head Coach Matt Maynard.

Sammy said, They are a great bunch of guys at Glamorgan, they are a star team.

It was a good finish but at the end of the day you want to win cricket matches at home and that is the most disappointing them. The crowd was very supportive and I am just happy to come here and showcase my talents.

The people are great here it reminds me of the Caribbean, the way people are cool and so laid back and it's a good environment to play in, the kids come out to watch and support and its always a plus to see the younger generation supporting the team and interested in cricket.

I have said I would love to come back, the 'O Sammy, Sammy' is great and rhymes with Glammy Glammy.

So like I have said, I have enjoyed my time here, they are a great bunch of lads and I wish Jim and Coach Toby the best of luck for the remaining games of the tournament and if we make it for the play-offs, the finals day then I could fly back and join Glamorgan again.

I am looking forward to coming back and being part of this county set up again in the future.
