The Glamorgan Second XI fixtures for 2017 have been confirmed with the side kicking off the campaign away at Northampton on Wednesday 12 April.
The fixture list, taking in the three day Second XI Championship, Second XI Trophy and the Second XI T20 competition, will see Glamorgan largely play around south Wales and the south of England.
Whilst there are no games scheduled for The SSE SWALEC – due to the hectic schedule of First XI and International cricket – there will be a number of matches at Newport's Spytty Park and at Neath, as well as fixtures at Abergavenny, Port Talbot, Mumbles, Panteg, St Fagans and Pontarddulais, whilst a couple of away fixtures are still to be confirmed venue wise.
Last season a number of young players made the transition from the 2nd XI to first team action, with the fixture against Pakistan A at Spytty Park giving players such as Kiran Carlson a chance to make a first team debut. The Newport venue will also play host as a training venue for international teams during the ICC Champions Trophy.
