Glamorgan's Chief Executive Hugh Morris is targeting an upward curve for membership for the coming season that he hopes will continue into 2015 and beyond.
Morris said, With a few days to go until the start of the new season, there are indications the graph is going to take an upward turn certainly in terms of membership revenue this year.
Although the Championship results were disappointing last year, our squad showed it can be competitive, by getting to a Lord's final, which obviously helps bring people through the gates. This year, we've got to push on, keep improving, play exciting cricket and most importantly produce a winning team people wish to support.
With the new fixture schedule we hope Sundays will provide supporters with regular weekend cricket and quality time with the family, whilst six Friday night T20 games provide the opportunity to grow our supporter base.
The SWALEC Stadium offers a great environment in which to watch live sport, the facilities here are a far cry from when I was last employed by Glamorgan, before the Stadium re-development, and it really is a fantastic venue, which receives great reviews from ECB, supporters, corporate groups and other counties.
As well as the seating which offers a superb view, we still have availability within the 125 Club for members to join and our Premier Membership category offers access to the pitch facing Premier Lounge, as well as the Members' lounge on the ground floor which is available to all members.
A lot of hard work has been done by people in our marketing teams and membership numbers in general are positive considering we are still receiving renewals through the post ahead of the opening first-class contest of the season now only about a month away.
Another exciting offering is the T20 Blast Season Ticket priced at only £50, its ideal for spectators who enjoy the shortest form of the game and who wish to start their weekends in style, with all that Cardiff has to offer. Alternatively One-Day membership gives the added benefit of including the new-look Royal London One Day Cup fixtures, which return to the 50-over format mirroring international cricket which has been so popular in Cardiff over recent years.
This new fixture schedule is here to stay and means that people can get back to the habit of watching cricket continued Morris. Following the excellent summer weather wise last year the Stadium welcomed about 150,000 people in 2013 with the majority attending live cricket matches including the successful ICC Champions Trophy and we enjoyed almost record T20 attendances.
The Ashes return to Wales in 2015, and with T20 proving to be as popular as ever the reality is that welsh cricket supporters can enjoy watching cricket once more. If we can continue to make membership an area of gain we can continue to invest in our facilities to continue making Glamorgan membership an exciting and rewarding experience.
Country Membership and Club Player Membership options are also once again available priced £60 and £65 respectively and guarantee the right to purchase an Ashes Test Match ticket when the Series returns in 2015, as well as access to five days for Country or 10 days play for Club Player members.
