Glamorgan Cricket is delighted to announce that opening batsman Nick Selman has signed a new two-year contract that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2021 season.
Selman joined the Club in 2015 after a successful 2nd XI trial, and in 2016 scored his maiden century against Northants at Swansea and became the first Glamorgan opening batsman for a dozen years to carry his bat throughout an innings.
In 2017 he struck four first-class centuries as he topped the club’s County Championship run scoring charts.
He has scored over 2,500 first-class runs for the club, including 7 centuries, with a career-best 150 against Gloucestershire at Spytty Park last year.
On his contract extension, Nick Selman, said: “It’s really exciting to extend my contract and I’m looking forward to the next couple of years.
“Hopefully I can put some good performances on the board and contribute to the team and we can win some games of cricket.
“We can’t wait to get started this season; everyone is raring to go.”
Mark Wallace, Director of Cricket, added: “Nick’s become a key part of our County Championship side over the last few seasons, and he’s consistently amongst our highest run scorers every season.
“Opening the batting isn’t an easy task, and Nick has shown his ability and application regularly since his debut, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more from him.
“He’s also displayed glimpses of his talent in the shorter formats of the game and we are excited to see his next step.”
