On Friday, 31st May, the day before the first full Cricket World Cup game at Sophia Gardens, the ‘Ultimate Delivery’ will call on as many people as possible to be part of a mass catch relay across the city.
With Wales staging four Cricket World Cup games, three warm up games and a recent IT20 against Pakistan, international cricket is coming thick and fast in the early part of this summer.
You can engage in this yourself, through your network and reach especially to young people through an exciting City event that’s being called the ‘Ultimate Delivery’.
Starting at Central Train Station the match ball will go round the Millennium Stadium, hop on a boat to Cardiff Bay, work it’s way through the Urdd Eisteddfod, catch a rickshaw back into town, through the arcades, over the Castle’s Turret down to the River Taff where Glamorgan players will throw it over.
The ball will then arrive at Sophia Gardens for the practising Sri Lanka and New Zealand captains to receive the match ball.
At the conclusion of the 'Ultimate Delivery' a celebratory cricket participation event will be on offer with free refreshments until they run out!
