Glamorgan travel to Taunton for their next match in the Royal London One-Day Cup with the Welsh county meeting Somerset in a match scheduled to start at 10.30am on Tuesday, August 12th.
Match Preview
Somerset are currently in second place in the group table, with Glamorgan, after their successive defeats to the Notts Outlaws and Durham, now languishing in eighth place, one spot above bottom-placed Surrey.
2013 saw Glamorgan involved in a couple of action-packed List A matches with Somerset. The first at Taunton saw a spirited fight-back with the bat by Ben Wright and Dean Cosker, but their sterling efforts were trumped by Craig Meschede who oversaw a late recovery by the home side who won with three wickets despite having to score 84 in the last ten overs.
The return match at the SWALEC Stadium was equally dramatic as Glamorgan mounted a successful run-chase. Mark Wallace led the way with a fine 70, but a mid-innings wobble meant that it was Simon Jones who struck the winning runs with three balls to spare as Glamorgan won a dramatic encounter by one wicket.
In 2012 Chris Cooke scored an unbeaten 137 in the List A match between the two sides at Taunton, but a quick-fire 81 from just 43 balls by Peter Trego gave the home side the launch-pad they needed as they completed victory by three wickets with thirteen balls to spare.
Glamorgan's last victory in a List A match on Somerset soil was in May 2008 when they won at Taunton by 19 runs, with David Hemp scoring 95, whilst Alex Wharf and Jamie Dalrymple each claimed three wickets as the Welsh county won with nineteen balls to spare.
