Head Coach Robert Croft has confirmed an unchanged 12-man squad for the visit of Division Two leaders Essex to The SSE SWALEC for the latest round of the Specsavers County Championship, scheduled to start tomorrow (11am).
Glamorgan were in a strong position on the final day of the match at Bristol last time out, before Gloucestershire snatched victory at at the Brightside Ground to secure their first win of the season and leave Glamorgan still in search of a first victory.
David Lloyd, who followed a century against Kent with 99 in the first innings against Gloucestershire last time out, is expecting another tough encounter.
“Essex have had a great start to the season and unfortunately we’ve been the opposite,” said the allrounder.
“We look at their team and although they’ve got some very good players, we reckon we have the talent in our side as well.
“The Gloucestershire game showed that because I’d say we were basically on top all the way through until that hour after lunch on the final day. It was just one of those where it seemed to be pure madness as wickets kept on falling. It was a hard one for us all to take.”
Glamorgan (12-man) squad to play Essex at The SSE SWALEC from Sunday: Rudolph (c), Bragg, Cooke, Donald, Hogan, Lloyd, Meschede, Podmore, Salter, van der Gugten, Wagg, Wallace
Rob Croft will join supporters for a Q&A in the Legends Lounge (ground floor NCC) during the lunch interval.
