Chris Cooke is set to make to 100th appearance in a Twenty20 game for Glamorgan on Friday night when the Welsh county meet the Essex Eagles at Sophia Gardens.

Chris will become the third Glamorgan player to reach this landmark, after Mark Wallace, his predecessor behind the stumps, who made 136 appearances in T20 matches between 2003 and 2016, as well as Dean Cosker who played in 128 matches for the Welsh county during the same period.
Chris made his debut for Glamorgan in Twenty20 cricket against Middlesex at Sophia Gardens in 2011, and made an immediate impact, lofting his second, third and fourth balls, from Ryan McLaren for successive sixes over the legside boundary followed by a squirt to long-leg for four. Shortly afterwards, Chris holed out at long-on having struck 22 from just six balls.
His career record in the short format stands at 1592 runs at an average of 23.76, with four half-centuries, as well as 58 catches and 6 stumpings. Amongst his finest performances in T20 cricket was a remarkable innings last year at Chelmsford where he blasted 60 off 29 balls against the Essex Eagles, besides striking the final ball for four to mid-wicket to clinch a stunning win which, a quarter of an hour earlier, had seemed unlikely with Glamorgan on 110-8 in the 16th over. But, together with the doughty efforts of Timm van der Gugten, the ninth wicket pair added 61 from the last 26 balls to see Glamorgan home.
