To complete, as an uncapped player, a relatively rare batting feat previously achieved by the likes of overseas stars Marnus Labuschagne, Javed Miandad and Viv Richards, as well as homegrown legends Alan Jones, Hugh Morris, Steve James and Matthew Maynard is a fine accomplishment, but this is what Kiran Carlson did this afternoon on the third day of the Welsh county’s LV=County Championship match against Sussex at Sophia Gardens. Having made an unbeaten 127 in Glamorgan’s first innings of the game against the South Coast club, Kiran made another unbeaten century this afternoon to record his second hundred of the match before ending the day on 129*.
