STAT ATTACK - The wettest T20 season?

The abandonment of Glamorgan’s Vitality Blast match on Friday night at Chelmsford was the fourth of the Welsh county’s matches in the competition to fall foul of the unseasonal weather.

The home game against the Essex Eagles had been a ‘No Result’, as had their opening contest against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham College, whilst the two matches this week – against the Kent Spitfires at Canterbury and the Essex Eagles at Chelmsford – have been complete washouts.

The wettest T20 season was 2012 when Glamorgan had four abandonments, plus a ‘No Result’ away to Northamptonshire. Both matches against Gloucestershire - at Cardiff and Bristol - were abandoned, together with the home games with Worcestershire and Somerset. In addition, both of the matches against Warwickshire were decided by the DLS Method following interruptions by the weather.
