Glamorgan visit the picturesque Arundel ground for the first-ever time for a 1st XI match on Sunday July 9th, as they meet the Sussex Sharks in their opening away game of the 2017 competition in the NatWest T20 Blast
This will be Glamorgan’s first-ever visit to the attractive Arundel venue with all of Glamorgan’s previous matches on Sussex soil having been at Hove, including last year’s contest which, because of rain on the South Coast, ended as a “No Result”.
Glamorgan were victorious in their home game with Sussex in 2016, winning by 48 runs, but the Sharks devoured the Glamorgan side of 2015 in both home and away fixtures with the contest at Hove seeing the home side win by eight wickets at Hove after Tymal Mills had claimed a trio of wickets and Luke Wright had weighed in with a typically muscular and unbeaten 92 to see the Sharks home with plenty of overs in hand.
After their defeat by 22 runs on Friday night to Hampshire under the Cardiff floodlights, Jacques Rudolph and his team will be looking to return to winning ways but Glamorgan have yet to win a Twenty20 game on Sussex soil having lost four out of their five previous visits to Sussex, with last year’s game at Hove ending in a “No Result”.
