The SSE SWALEC To Welcome 50,000th June Cricket Supporter Tomorrow

24 Jun 2017 | Events
Following on from the success of the 2017 Champions Trophy in Cardiff, England host South Africa tomorrow (25 June) in the third and final match of their NatWest International T20 match series, with a bumper crowd expected to take the number of supporters who have watched international cricket at The SSE SWALEC in June over the 50,000 mark.

Both teams will be looking to finish the Series with a flurry and put their Champions Trophy demons to bed. England were comfortably outplayed by Pakistan in the semi-final in front of a raucous sell-out crowd in Cardiff, whilst South Africa went out in the group stages as they lost to both Pakistan and India.

Cardiff's International calendar kicked off on 6 June when England played New Zealand; the match day attendance of over 10,000 supporters was weather effected. Three days later New Zealand played Bangladesh followed by Sri Lanka against Pakistan, where Pakistan won a thrilling contest.

A sell-out is again expected this Sunday, so the venue will surpass the 50,000 mark in attendees enjoying International cricket across June.

Although the International calendar in Cardiff draws to a close on Sunday, supporters can enjoy domestic cricket throughout the summer including Wales’ inaugural day-night Specsavers County Championship match starting on Monday and seven NatWest T20 Blast home games.

Tickets are still available to purchase for the NatWest IT20 International between England and South Africa, as well as County Championship and NatWest T20 Blast matches. CLICK HERE to secure your seats.
