Glamorgan end the second day of their LV= County Championship fixture against Derbyshire in a commanding position after a dominant display with bat and ball.
The Welsh County finish on 240-4 thanks to a fluent 84 by captain David Lloyd, plus an elegant and unbeaten 53 from Marnus Labuschagne. This after Michael Hogan and Michael Neser both took four wickets to dismiss Derbyshire for 368. This after they were 276/2 late on day one.
Lloyd and Salter put Glamorgan in a strong position with a century opening stand, with the Welsh County scoring at over four runs per over throughout their innings so far.
"The way the bowlers went about it," said Lloyd, "especially when they were 270 odd for 2, to get them out for 360 was a real good effort from the group and they've been outstanding all year.
"I feel good, I'm disappointed I didn't carry on but that's part of the game I suppose. I thought we batted really well to put ourselves in a good situation and hopefully we can rebuild in the morning and try and bat as long as we can.
"The way Andrew (Salter) batted as well was really good, obviously disappointed with the way he was out but he's put his hand up and looked good all the times he's opened and hopefully he'll get some runs if needed second innings."
