Glamorgan took control of their opening fixture LV= County Championship fixture against Gloucestershire as they were dismissed for 165.
The men from Bristol made a solid start to proceedings as they were 71/1 before David Lloyd dismissed James Bracey with the final ball before Tea.
After the break, Timm van der Gugten tore through the Gloucestershire middle order with a wonderful spell of bowling, claiming four lbw’s in a short spell after the break, before completing a five-for, finishing with figures of 5/26.
The flying Dutchman also claimed his 200th first-class wicket for the Welsh County in the process, and was pleased with the position his side were in on day one.
“I think as a first day we definitely would have taken that as a team, winning the toss and bowling, it was nice to make some inroads with the ball and be out there with the bat already.
“It is a big day tomorrow. It is not an easy wicket to bat on so we are going to have to try our hardest to try and get through that new ball and bat as long as we can to build some sort of lead.”
