Head Coach Robert Croft has named a 14-man squad for Glamorgan’s Natwest T20 Blast match versus Surrey at the Oval tonight.
It’s the same squad as the one picked to face Gloucestershire with the exception of fast bowler Tim van der Gugten who is omitted after picking up an injury in last night’s game against Gloucestershire, which is currently being assessed.
Glamorgan have a good recent record against Surrey and seam bowler Hogan is looking forward to taking on the London club once again, after recording his career-best T20 figures in Cardiff yesterday.
“We’ve had a lot of success against Surrey in the last two or three years particularly at the Oval so we go there with a lot of confidence but they’ve got some quality players,” said Hogan.
“They are missing a few but seem to have never ending resources so it will be a good challenge. The boys have been playing really well out there and we have a lot of confidence.”
Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques steps in for Kumar Sangakkara who has departed for the CPL, but Hogan is unsurprised an international calibre player has stepped in to replaced another one.
“It’s a who’s who of international cricket. One international player leaves and another comes back in but that’s the game and you want to play against the best players,” added Hogan.
“That’s the competition we’re playing in and luckily you get to play against Finch and Sangakkara and these types of players so as a young or old player you relish the opportunity.”
