31 May 2015 | Cricket
Glamorgan host Middlesex in the next NatWest T20 Blast at the SWALEC Stadium on Friday (5th June), with Cardiff set to be extremely busy as thousands of fans head to Cardiff for two gigs in the city on the same night.
The Manic Street Preachers are doing a homecoming show at Cardiff Castle, while One Direction will play at the Millennium Stadium on June 5 and 6.

What's more train passengers have been warned rail improvement works will disrupt travel plans so traffic volumes are expected to be high, due to the engineering works.

A spokesman for Arriva Trains Wales said: there will still be some important changes to normal rail services on our network.

They have warned there will be no First Great Western Services to London or Cross Country Services to Birmingham following the events.

Passengers have also been advised that Cardiff Queen Street Station will close at 9.15pm - more than an hour before the concerts are due to finish.

In a statement on their website, Arriva Trains Wales said: We strongly advise the public to plan for alternative forms of transport.

Travelling to Cardiff by all public transport and on the national or local road network will be extremely busy with very limited parking available in Cardiff city centre.

Road closures in central Cardiff around the castle and Millennium Stadium will also be in effect due to these events.

Please allow plenty of extra time for all journeys to and from Cardiff on this date.

Road closures will be in force in the capital, with partial closures from 2pm ahead of full road closures from 5pm.
