Wagg - We're Up For Middlesex Challenge

4 Jun 2015 | Cricket
All-rounder Graham Wagg says Glamorgan will earn the support of the SWALEC stadium crowd, as they look to bounce back from successive home defeats with a win over Middlesex.
Despite Wagg starring with the ball, taking 4/27 against Hampshire, disappointing displays with the bat in their last two games have proven costly. But Wagg says a good batting performance will spur on a noisy Friday night crowd at the SWALEC tomorrow.

We bowled fantastically well against Essex and Hampshire, said Graham Wagg but we had a few issues with the bat up front and if you lose three or four wickets in the first six overs you don't win many games.

We have got to put on the right performances for them [the supporters] to come and make noise for us. If you lose games at home they don't necessarily get behind you and rightly so. We're a better team than we've shown in the last two home games and we want to put that right.

After a convincing 10 wicket win over Northants in the LV County Championship this week, Wagg is hoping the team can take that form into the shorter form.

He added: Preparation has been hard, we've bene playing all week so we only have today to train before the game.

We've come off the loss of two back-to-back losses and Middlesex are coming off two wins. It's going to be a tough game but we're really up for it.

Glamorgan lie second-bottom the T20 Blast South Group, with one win in three matches, while Middlesex sit up in second after racking up scores of more than 200 in wins over Sussex and Kent in their last two fixtures.

England's Eoin Morgan is set to return for the visitors following his spell with IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Wayne Parnell is expected to make his second appearance for Glamorgan.
