Radyr Cricket Club continue their 125th year anniversary celebrations this week as part of 10 days of sporting action for the club and tomorrow evening's celebrity T20 clash in support of #StayStrongForOws will feature Glamorgan's Mark Wallace.
Radyr CC have organised a week-long festival of cricket to celebrate their anniversary in what is a historic moment for the club.
A beer and cider festival kicked things off, followed by games against the MCC, Royal Household and a celebrity Twenty20 clash against a side featuring a number of former Wales rugby internationals which will support the #StayStrongforOws campaign.
The 125th anniversary of any sports club is a wonderful occasion and the members of Radyr Cricket Club intend to enjoy it to the full, said Radyr chairman Chris Hitchings.
The cricket week has been 18 months in the planning and with members of all ages we have ensured a varied programme of fixtures.
The club would like to encourage as many people as possible to come down and watch the cricket with the ground just a two minute walk from Radyr train station.
Radyr has a vibrant youth policy with junior sides of both girls and boys and four senior teams too.
Everyone at the club has been involved in getting the ground ready for the event which is sure to be remembered by everyone involved for years to come.
The Twenty20 game against a side led by Jamie and Nicky Robinson will see the likes of Tom Shanklin, Martyn Williams and current Glamorgan wicketkeeper Mark Wallace all take part.
