Day 2 at Emirates Riverside was a frustrating one, with just 15.4 overs possible for rain wiped out proceedings for the rest of the day in the final Specsavers County Championship clash of the season.
Just two wickets fell during the morning session, with de Lange removing Raine and Carse to take Glamorgan to within one wicket of the maximum bowling bonus points with another 23.2 overs to get them, as BJ Watling held firm to reach an unbeaten century. de Lange's pair of dismissals took him to 55 wickets for the season, the most of any Glamorgan bowler, and the seamer is happy to get his head down and do whatever he can for the side.
"It's a bit frustrating with the weather around," said de Lange. "We always knew it was coming. We would have loved to have scooped up the four wickets this morning. It didn't go that way for us, but we're still in it, and there's still two days left so we'll see how it goes.
"Everyone around the country is watching the weather and the points, but at the same time we know what we need to do.
"We'll go session by session, get as many first innings points as we can and then batting wise we know we need to put up a good total.
Hopefully it then comes down to the last day, we put them back in again and you never know in this game. Get a couple of quick wickets and things could be in our favour.
"I’m just going to try do my job, try to do what’s best for the team."
