Glamorgan face a busy weekend in their NatWest T20 Blast campaign as they prepare to face Somerset in Cardiff on Saturday, before making the long trip to Chelmsford where they play Essex Eagles the following day.

Despite the congested fixture list, batsman Colin Ingram, who scored Glamorgan’s fastest ever T20 century-from 46 balls against Sussex last Sunday, is looking forward to the challenge.

“It’s not the ideal format, but the T20 Blast competition always has a hectic schedule, and we have to adapt to it,” said Ingram.

“Before the competition starts, you always feel a little edgy, but after that win at Arundel you felt the confidence beginning to kick in and we are all looking forward to the weekend.”

Ingram played for the West Country rivals during the 2014 season, and believes they will bring a strong challenge, despite losing their first two fixtures in this year’s Blast.

“They have some dangerous players, a good attack which includes the Overton brothers, and some useful all-rounders. The game is also on television, which will add a little spice to the occasion.”

On Sunday, Glamorgan face Essex Eagles and the South African has happy memories playing at Chelmsford, scoring a 55-ball hundred there last year before heavy rain set in after the interval and the game was abandoned.

“I really enjoy playing there,” added Ingram. “The pitch is always good, and the partisan crowd get me going and I find it a good battle.

“It’s always a good contest, and Essex will come hard at us, especially after losing their two opening games.”
