Glamorgan made the most of helpful bowling conditions on day one of their LV= County Championship fixture against Worcestershire.
The Welsh County won the toss and elected to bowl first, and were vindicated in their decision, as they bowled the Pears out for halfway through the afternoon session.
Michael Neser and James Harris both took four wickets in an impressive display from the seam attack.
Glamorgan finished the day on 177/6 and lead by 68 runs as 16 wickets fell on day one.
“We weren’t really sure what to do at the toss, probably because of the moisture and the rain we have had around recently it was probably a good time to bowl.
“I thought the way the guys bowled as a collective this morning was spot on. They held their lines and lengths really well and caused the Worcester boys problems.
“The wicket is a slow one, I thought the Worcester guys bowled really well after tea and pegged us back a little bit. There is still enough in that pitch, even with the older ball but that partnership between Michael Neser and Billy Root has put us in a good position.”
