Glamorgan toiled away without much luck on the first day of their LV= County Championship fixture against Durham.
The Welsh County won the toss and elected to bowl first against their northern adversaries, but the pitch did not offer the bowlers much assistance.
Though four wickets in the afternoon brought honours even going into the evening session, a late 81-run stand by Liam Trevaskis and Brydon Carse saw Durham close on 382/6.
Head coach Matt Maynard said “It was pretty similar to the [decision to bowl first against] Gloucestershire. We thought it might do a bit more in this morning’s session, but we didn’t get too much out of it.
“We didn’t put quite as many balls as a bowling group. Michael Neser on his first day and Timm van der Gugten were exceptional. Dan Douthwaite bowled a great spell this afternoon, but throughout the course of the day we didn’t string enough tight overs together.”
