Chris Cooke is looking forward to Saturday\'s home NatWest T20 Blast clash against Somerset.
Cooke's quickfire 37* from just 17 balls played a decisive role in getting Glamorgan across the line on Sunday to help the Welsh county record their first T20 win of the 2017 season, alongside a record breaking 101* from Colin Ingram and 49 from white ball captain Jacques Rudolph.
"It was important to win on Sunday and get back on track," said Cooke. "There were some fantastic parts of the game for us and we played some good cricket so we’re excited about Saturday now.
"It was even better to watch Jacques and Colin, you won’t see a better T20 partnership than that especially considering where we were. They both played unbelievably and I’m sure it’s inspired a few of the others to replicate that going forward in the competition. I was swinging like a rusty gate as I sometimes do, but it was nice to contribute and get the strike rate up a bit and it proved to be an important little partnership between Colin and I."
Cooke spoke of how he relishes the opportunity to contribute as both wicket-keeper and batsman after a tough campaign in 2016.
"It’s something I’ve done in the past and something I enjoy being in the heat of the action. Obviously I was disappointed to miss out on the second half of last season but I’m loving being back and winning games for Glamorgan again."
South West rivals Somerset are next up for the Welsh county, a fixture that has not been short on friction over the last few seasons.
"There’s always a little bit of needle between us and Somerset which is nice and often they get a few of the fans up and there’s a good crowd so we’re hoping for a good game. We’ve got a pretty decent record against them lately in the last few years so hopefully we’ll continue that."
