Glamorgan\'s Michael Hogan believes the Welsh county hold a slight edge over Gloucestershire going into the final day of this Specsavers County Championship match.
The Australian bowler took 4/68 as Glamorgan stuck at their task on an attritional day's cricket in Bristol, Gloucestershire finishing the day 302/8, 234 runs ahead.
Hogan – who snared the prize wickets of Cameron Bancroft (70), Gareth Roderick (67) and Hamish Marshall (58) – said Glamorgan are slightly ahead of the eight-ball.
He said: "If you hit the pitch hard there is a bit in it, but it's hard work when the ball gets older.
"There was a bit of drizzle around when we took the second new ball, which probably quickened the wicket and helped us. I think we are just ahead of the game at the moment."
Of team-mate Graham Wagg, who didn't take the field on day three after suffering a blow on a forearm while batting on Monday, Hogan added: "There is no break, so although he is a bit sore and sorry for himself at the moment, he should be okay for our next game.
"If not, he can have a rest and be ready for our first T20 match."
With all three results possible going into the final day, Hogan and Co will need to take the final two Gloucestershire wickets before Glamorgan's batsmen chase down the required runs. Play resumes at The Brightside Ground at 11am.
