We’ve shown a lot of determination and grit - Cullen

Half centuries from David Lloyd and Tom Cullen, plus 37 not out from Graham Wagg helped Glamorgan avoid the follow on against Middlesex at Radlett.

Lloyd and Cullen came together at 118/5 and put on a partnership of 86 to halt the Middlesex momentum as Glamorgan finished the day on 274/9, still 136 runs behind the home side.

“It’s been quite a poor day with the bat for us, but hopefully making them bat again secures a draw at least and we can move on unbeaten," admitted Cullen.

“We want to be tougher to beat and obviously if we can pick up a win here and there along the way that helps us in our bid for promotion.

“When I walked in it felt like there was quite a bit of pressure on the situation and I guess that’s been the story of our season so far. We’ve shown a lot of determination and grit to get ourselves out of positions like that and it’s great we were able to do that again.

“It's pleasing to get another fifty but I haven't converted it and I'm hungry to do that in the next few games if I get a chance. There are very good batters coming in behind me and that’s a calming thought. I hope we can keep pushing on now.”
