The itinerary for the popular talks in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at The SSE SWALEC has been finalised for the period from September through to December 2016.
Wednesday, September 28th – “The Next Generation”
An evening looking ahead to the future with Richard Almond of Glamorgan CCC and members of the Club’s Academy will be speaking about their activities relating to the next generation of Glamorgan cricketers.
Wednesday, October 19th – “The Summer of 1976”
Graham Burgess, the former Somerset cricketer looks back on the end-of-the-season Sunday League match against Glamorgan in 1976, as well as discussing his coaching work at Monmouth School and with Welsh age-group teams.
Wednesday, November 9th – “An Evening with Michael Hogan”
The Australian-born seam bowler discusses his county career with Glamorgan, and looks ahead to the future with the Welsh county.
Wednesday, December 7th – Xmas Quiz and Curry Night
A repeat of the popular quiz night with a chance for Glamorgan supporters to celebrate the Festive season with a quiz and curry in the Museum.
The Quiz Night will be £10 per person (including curry and a complimentary drink).. Each of the other talks will be £3 in advance for current Glamorgan members or £4 on the door on the night. For non-members, it’s £4 in advance or £5 on the door (Price includes complimentary tea and coffee). Tickets can be purchased from Reception in the Discover Leeks Pavilion during normal office hours. Please enquire about parking when purchasing your ticket. Each of the above events will start at 7.30pm
There are also two other events which may be of interest. On the evening of Thursday November 3rd, a play called “When The Eye Has Gone” will be staged at The SSE SWALEC. The play looks at the life of former England cricketer Colin Milburn and is being staged in conjunction with the PCA. There is also an additional talk on Monday, November 14th when Dr. Andrew Hignell will be speaking at Glamorgan Archives (CF11 8AW) on the history of cricket in Wales. Andrew’s talk is entitled “From Meadowland to Moneyspinner” and will start at 6pm. Entrance is free of charge, with a light buffet also included, together with tea and coffee. Further talks in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket are planned for January, February and March 2017.
