Glamorgan unchanged for Leicestershire Foxes clash

4 Aug 2021 | Cricket

Head coach David Harrison has named an unchanged 13-man squad for our Royal London Cup match against Leicestershire Foxes at Uptonsteel County Ground tomorrow.

The Welsh county head into the fixture in fine form having registered a comprehensive five-wicket win over Surrey yesterday and currently sit top of Group 1 on seven points with the top three counties in each group progressing to the knockout stages.

Off-spinner Andrew Salter (3/37) and seamer Lukas Carey (2/28) both registered career-best List A figures in the victory, while overseas signing Hamish Rutherford breezed his way to a second half-century of the competition.

Veteran bowler Michael Hogan was as miserly as ever with the ball, taking 1/18 from his allotted overs and now has ten wickets from just five matches in the competition at an average of just over 10.

View from the camp – Andrew Salter

"It was great to get out on the park with the lads and contribute to a great win at home. Hoges & Lukas set the tone up front and we were able to keep the pressure on them for the middle overs whilst taking our chances when they came.

"Likewise, we struck it well and ticked over at over fives during our first powerplay which set us off nicely. Hamish was timing them beautifully and set us up to knock them off with plenty of overs to come.

"No doubt there’s always little things here and there we want to improve for our next game but we go to Leicestershire with confidence looking to back up our performance against Surrey."
