Head coach Matt Maynard has named a 14-man squad for Glamorgan’s final home game of the season against local rivals Gloucestershire in the LV= Insurance County Championship starting on Sunday.
The Welsh county will be looking to bounce back from defeats to Essex and Durham in the Divisional stage of the County Championship and finish their campaign at Sophia Gardens on a high.
All-rounder Ruaidhri Smith and left-arm seamer Jamie McIlroy have both been recalled to the first team after recovering from injuries and proving their fitness with some impressive performances for the 2nd XI.
In the most recent Second Eleven Championship fixtures, Smith took combined match figures of 5/43 and McIlroy 4/59 against Derbyshire, while they both picked up two wickets each in the first innings against Yorkshire at Newport CC. Earlier today, it was announced that Smith had signed a new one-year contract extension with the club.
Top-order batsman Eddie Byrom, who is on loan from Somerset for the rest of the season before completing a permanent move, will also make his home debut after making his first-class debut for the club in the defeat to Durham.
